Somerset Skills and Learning Centre

Families living in East Somerset are invited to get into the festive spirit at a free Christmas Family Fun Day in Wells on Thursday 21st December.

Organised by the National Lottery funded Positive People project, families can enjoy face painting, bubble play, storytelling, craft activities, the chance to be a virtual Christmas Elf and a visit from the magic fairy, Firelight.

The Positive People project in Somerset gives people opportunities to get involved in their local community, meet new people and learn new skills and hobbies through a range of activities.

Emma Westcott, Somerset Positive People partnership manager, explains, “We want to give local people a free event that they can enjoy with their children in the build up to Christmas. While children are being entertained by the festive activities, parents and carers can find out more about the Positive People project and how we can help them build their confidence and develop new life skills.”

All members of the public are welcome at the free Christmas Family Fun Day event at the Somerset Skills and Learning Centre, Portway Avenue, Wells between 12noon and 3pm. No advance booking necessary.

Positive People is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund and is a partnership between Pluss, Abilities, Cosmic, Community Council for Somerset and Inspired to Achieve.
