As part of the annual Glorious Open Gardens on behalf of St Margaret’s Hospice, Westleigh Farm, Westleigh, Lydeard St Lawrence, Taunton, Somerset TA4 3RE will be open to the public on Sunday 26th May 2019 between 11.00am – 5.00pm.
A two acre garden, set amongst farmhouse and stone barns. Steps lead to grass terraces and borders bursting with flowering shrubs and perennials, plus vegetables. A rill, ponds and a stream attract wildlife and the garden stretches beyond the garden walls to ancient flowering meadows and a recently replanted orchard. Refreshments will be available and the garden is accessible by wheelchairs and pushchairs but beware of some grassy slopes. No dogs please.
‘Glorious Somerset Gardens’ season tickets are also available, priced at £25.00 each, which gives entry to all of the gardens participating this year, raising money for St. Margaret’s Hospice. There are some 54 individual gardens in the scheme, some of them as part of a village or town walkabout, and include a private 20 acre nature reserve, school allotment plus orchards and farms – something for everyone! To purchase phone Susan Bickle on 01935 709182.
